Cenotes, Yucatan10/6/2017 ...Cenotes cenotes...
How should one describe #cenotes... They’re so special in each of their own ways mysterious, Magical, marvelous. Each is different and each is unique. There are 6000 cenotes in total in #Mexico. Can you believe it? So go nuts. Only catfish & little glowy fishes live here. Bat droppings come down once in awhile. The location of the one below is: Calle 54, #Valladolid Its name: Hacienda San Lorenzo #Oxman How to get there: On Scooter: 15min from city center. On foot - totally doable - good luck. In rainy season there are lots of big water puddles, Making the trip full of obstacles. Some cenotes are full of white soot like sand, Making the water a pure aquatic blue; Some are dark and cold, Some with pillars of light piercing onto the water surface. Many were discovered then excavated. But they're All naturally formed ponds. They are just the bestest of swimming pools. I hope you’ll find your Own favorite one, too. Advice: Don’t go to the popular ones, People ruin the space & your experience. There are 6000 to choose from so, Don’t be afraid to explore some random village operated ones. This way you’ll support their local community, too.

1) plan a whole Day so that you can do 2~3 sites on the route. each is different in its own way, & each occupies a Huge area! Go at any hour: almost no one comes here anyway, just take your time and enjoy it to your utmost pleasure. There are a few ruins within this area. It is Better to drive there, so you can visit more #ruins. 2) use sunscreen & mosquito repellent - they’re insane there. 3) bring a little picnic - the view at the very end is ☆☆☆☆☆ to be able to eat your sandwich, drink fresh juice to the view of a jungle with a rounded pyramid in the middle is a lifetime luxury. 4) Don't attempt to go inside the chambers Bat guano stinks! 5) Don't tease the #iguanas, they're territorial & they DO bite.
